About

MarySimmonsGlass_PortraitRetouch-001A Northwest Glass Artist, Mary Simmons has been creating glass art as a second career after being exposed to the beauty and feel of art glass. She immerses herself into experimenting, learning and creating all she can. Fused glass is her passion and she creates amazing pieces with some very unique and always developing processes.

Mary’s current projects include stunning and amazing glass art lighting, table tops, benches, sinks, wall art, room dividers and functional pieces.

Mary’s passion for the serenity of the northwest waters and environment influences her pieces. “Living in and growing up in the Pacific Northwest, my glass art is influenced by the beauty of the sea, nature, wildlife and our peaceful surroundings.” The fluid, but solid state of fused glass enables her to capture these same elements. “I love the feel and the texture and the warm colors of fused glass.”

“Fused glass comes to life with light”,  so naturally Mary enjoys creating glass art pieces designed for lighting. She focuses much of her time in the studio creating custom chandeliers, ceiling lights, wall sconces, and pendant lighting.

Mary’s unique tabletops and benches are stunning pieces of glass art, both functional and beautiful. These amazing glass art pieces add a touch of warmth, color and functionality to any room or office.

Her unique style and creative glass designs are a favorite of designers and clients looking to add glass art and functionality into their homes, professional offices and businesses.

Many of Mary’s custom light shades and wall sconces can be seen in lighting stores throughout the USA, through this website or at her annual Open Studio tour on Camano Island, held each year on Mother’s Day week-end and the following weekend. Mary frequently works with clients to create custom glass art pieces, which compliments and highlights their personal design styles and price points. Please contact her for further information.
